Several degrees removed from Jackson Abdul-Salaam’s work as Junta Cadre & Herukrat, the density of sound comprising ‘Strike Rising, Ample Fire’ speaks with more immediacy than words. The material contained within is a snarling maelstrom of sheer cathartic energy – a firestorm burning away mental cobwebs. Clearly a reflection on the times we find ourselves in, ‘Strike Rising’ is a counter-assault on the complacency so many have found in squalor: an attempt to awaken from somnambulistic stasis. An objective glimpse of our communities reflected back to us. Commuter urges liberation from the debris in which we find ourselves mired.
